Dear Colleagues and Distinguished Participants,

We are happy to share with you the pride and excitement of organizing the 5^th International 6^th National Congress on Postpartum Care by Mersin University Faculty of Nursing, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Nursing. The congress, which will be held at Altın Orfoz Hotel (Mersin) from 17 to 20 October 2024 and will be attended by national and international scientists from various disciplines, will focus on the current and evidence-based care of the postpartum process, one of the most important stages in a woman’s life. Our aim is to contribute to the development of maternal, child and community health by improving postpartum care through interdisciplinary collaboration.

The maternal mortality rate can be reduced or even prevented by the correct management of complications that occur during pregnancy, labour or postpartum processes. The fact that most maternal deaths are still “preventable” and almost all occur in low and low-middle income countries suggests that postpartum care is not provided in a standard framework. Accordingly, the main theme of our congress is “Clinical Aspects of Postpartum Care: Protocols and Guidelines“. At our congress, panels and conferences where expert scientists will share their knowledge and experience will include the presentation of protocols and guidelines on postpartum care, and studies on postpartum care will be included in the paper sessions.

We invite all members of the profession who know the importance of their own power and action in improving postpartum care to the 5^th International 6^th National Congress on Postpartum Care, we are happy to see you among us, we present our love and respect.
